Physical damage or poor door alignment can affect the enclosure designed to contain microwave energy. Leakage testing provides a measured check of the appliance while it is operating under the test procedure. It can be included alongside other electrical appliance testing where practical.
The technician checks the door, seal, hinges, latches, enclosure and accessible surfaces for visible damage that may affect safe operation.
The microwave is operated under controlled test conditions and a suitable meter is used around the door and enclosure. The reading is assessed against the applicable limit and procedure.
The appliance and result are recorded so the workplace can identify the unit tested. Any failed or damaged microwave is clearly reported for removal from service or further action.
ETS technicians follow a defined inspection and measurement process using suitable leakage testing equipment. This supports repeatable results across workplace appliance programs.
